myLot Discussions on The Killers CD| Can you work productively on pain killers? | | We were super busy today at work, so we called in the new(ish) girl - who had gotten an infected wisdom tooth extracted about a week before. She was inebriated.. from Vicodin when she came in. Seriously. So bad that she couldn't concentrate on anything that she was doing, and did not get even a LITTLE bit of work done. She was also feeling sick and like she was going to throw up. She is like TINY, though - probably like 90 pounds and 5'3 or something. The weird thing is, is that I used to be prescribed pain killers (the same kind) for really bad cramps. And although it made me sleepy sometimes, it never affected my work or my productivity, or even things like eye-sight. It never affected me that way. Now, granted, I'm 5'9 and almost twice her weight! So that could be it, too. It also could be a different dosing. How do you react to painkillers? Is what she was experiencing NORMAL? Can you work when you're taking pain killers? | |

I just read an article about a serial killer who existed before more than a 100 years. No I am not talking about 'Jack the Ripper'. I am talking about 'Johann Otto Hoch'. He was a German immigrant to America in 1890s. It is estimated that from his arrival in America he married and killed 23 ladies in 15 years. His method was thus. He was a handsome fellow. He seduced rich but lonely ladies and trapped them in love. He would marry his victim and would kill her in a few months, before getting all her wealth signed in his name. His tool was Arsenic- a deadly poison! Arsenic was available everywhere in those days. The procedures to detect it in a body, were complicated. So the doctors never tried those methods, unless ordered from the Law Enforcement or courts. No one suspected Hoch, except a talented Detective called Shippy. Shippy kept on Hoch's trail for more than 15 years and finally caught him. He was sentenced to death, of course. The worse facts are these: He proposed his sister-in-law over the death bed of his wife. After being sentenced, he assumed boyish innocence... | |

I don't think anybody seems to be getting the point. So far, the buzz has always been "iPhone killer this, iPad killer that". But I don't see Apple breaking a sweat. And I think I know why.I personally think that on some off days in Apple Land, the heads are laughing their pants off because they know their competitors are just totally missing the point. In the UK yesterday a man who as a 10 year old was convicted of killing a toddler was sent back to prison. | | Researching signs of serial killers... | | After I began to believe in horoscopes because I had finally developed my full personality, I started to get very into researching other's horoscopes and marveling at how correct they are. Just the other week, I was watching a serial killer documentary on YouTube (I don't remember which one) and they said he was born in early August, a Leo. This particular killer was very egotistical when it came to killing, and even admitted to a few dozen more murders than he actually committed. I am a Leo and I know quite a few Leos...at the very least, they are confident. At the worst and most, egotistical and thinking they can't do wrong.So this made me do some research. I found that Ted Bundy was a Scorpio. He worked in government...had angry outbursts...Scorpios tend to experience emotion in very deep, sharp ways, while many are power hungry. I know many hate being wronged. And this guy started a killing spree of women who reminded him of the ex-girlfriend who'd said he wasn't mature enough to continue a relationship. He snapped.Then I researched Jeffrey Dahmer...a Taurus. Of course, he was also a murderer and a cannibal. No other sign appreciates the things that belong to them... | |
