myLot Discussions on Jonas Brothers Music Videos| Honor Society? Heard of the band? | | Okay. So I have like been in love with Honor Society for ages and they are finally becoming more popular! They used to be an unknown band and it felt like I was the only person in the word who would listen to their music. For about two years I have listened to their music and have enjoyed their songs. My favorite song is "See U in the Dark". Check it out on YouTube and tell me what you think of the band.The only reason I am going to the Jonas Brother's concert in the Rogers Center in toronto on Aug 30 is for the opening - Honor Society. I think this is the only reason they are becoming more popular - they are on the world tour with the Jonas Brothers, and they are like the biggest big-shots in the world. I personally don't mind their(the Jonas Brothers) music, but I don't like them that much because of their popularity rank - I mean I'm not jealous, just feel really bad that other bands (like honor society) are not given the chance to sprout. I wouldn't mind if they were popular for like 3 months and then everyone got over them - but its ridiculous that people l\have been in love with them for soo long! | |

Anytime a Flo Rida can have a Number One Hit with a song called "Low", or a Soulja Boy" can hit #1 with the very forgettable "Crank Dat," or "Love in Da Club" by an Usher--our standards have been sucked into the sink, to quote Dr. Laura Schlessinger. In the 70s and 80s, performers had class, and talent. There were certain things that just weren't said. (There were also some slick tunes from the 90s as well.)Kudos to performers like Alicia Keys, Colbie Caillat, and Coldplay, who defied the norms, giving us songs like, "You Don't Know My Name," "If I Don't Have You," "Bubbly," and "Viva La Vida," respectively. These are the songs that I will remember when we welcome a new decade in on Friday morning, January 1, 2010. The High School Musical series, Jonas Brothers music, and Hannah Montana will be forgotten as the current generation ages, and the CD's grow older and more rusted and scratched. | | Who here thinks the Jonas Brothers write their own music? | | I don't know about you, but to me three young guys writing hit after hit doesn't seem so believable. Could it be the magic of studios and all the money being thrown at the music by high up business execs? Or could it be that we drown out the music and get lost in their dreamy boy faces, well, except for Kevin's. Or, could it simply be they are only performing the songs of long time music industry experts paid by Disney and the likes? To me three kids/young adults getting super famous in such a small amount of time, while other kids break their backs writing their own material, touring, and promoting and get almost nowhere seems a little ridiculous.Then again, maybe they just played their cards right. Good looking kids, pop rock music, Christians, Disney. How can you go wrong? | |
